tHE FILMING OF THE MEMORY SCANNER - AUGUST 11TH 2021

A Talk with Producer Jesse Wright Mountain News Article Aug 11 for Memory Scanner

There was a lot of ‘Action’ in Lake Arrowhead lately. Between the filming of ‘The Terminal List’ starring Chris Pratt, and the filming of ‘The Memory Scanner’, many locals feel that Hollywood has rediscovered Lake Arrowhead. After all, over 100 movies have been filmed in the San Bernardino Mountains over the decades.
“The upcoming thriller movie ‘The Memory Scanner’ is about overhauling the ‘American criminal justice system’ and ‘attorney client privileges’,” said executive producer Jesse Wright. “It is about ‘defunding the criminal justice system’ & not defunding the police.”
“We will uncover the wrongful death verdicts, attorneys that misuse the loophole of attorney client privileges to hide the criminals, criminals that are free on the streets due to wrong verdicts, innocents that are behind bars who never committed the crime, the jury, DNA, the facial recognition system that has been broken, and massive court costs that the governments spend,” Wright said.
What kind of movie is this? It is a sci-fi thriller based on Wright’s book published about 10 years ago. “Brain scanners after their inceptions, will be placed in police stations to determine if the suspect that has been apprehended is guilty or innocent,” Wright explained. “Our brain, just like a computer hard drive, stores pictures and audio from the day that we are born. Tapping into the segments of the memory has always been difficult; however, pinpointing the timeline that the crime has taken place would set the innocent individual free, or describe the crime without any manipulation for the judge to decide the punishment.”
Wright wants to explore the possibility of overhauling the present criminal justice system. “Let’s explore the possibility of placing smart chips in the brain of criminals and terrorists to give us signals prior to their intent to do massive shootings or destroy properties and kill innocent people. In seconds, such intentions can alert the authorities before the incident. In the same journey, let’s free the innocents that have been put in prison, bypass the DNA and identify the criminals.”
“Murder, rape, terrorism, espionage, and high profile cases will no longer need the lengthy trials,” said Wright. “Dishonest criminal defense attorneys can no longer hide the murderers behind the curtain of ‘attorney client privileges’ and charge hefty fees. Memory scanners can abolish the federal court buildings nationwide, abolish the jury system, and get to the truth in minutes.”
Some of the movie scenes took place at various locations in Lake Arrowhead including Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa, Cedar Glen Laundry, Arrowhead Lake Resort (AKA North Bay Condo) and private Lake Arrowhead residences.
John MacArthur, owner of Cedar Glen Laundry, and his son Caleb were excited to be on set where a murder scene took place at the laundromat. In fact, his son Caleb was asked to participate during the production by calling out ‘Action’. “What a great experience for Caleb,” MacArthur said.
Brad Naucler, general manager at Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa was happy that the resort was chosen as one of the filming locations.
